The dam is now closed. We have drawn down 5 feet and intend to maintain this water level until bulkhead and dredging projects are done.
Our Aquatic Consultant will be accessing coves for trapped fish in the next few weeks. If they determine fish relocation is required this will also be completed over the course of the next 4 weeks. Deployment of bubblers may be also be used near the dam / beach area of the lake in order to keep water circulating and prevent ice from forming.
All necessary permits and steps have been taken with the NJ Fish & Wildlife Division and the UGLPOA has been in frequent contact with them during this draw down process.
Any concerns about wildlife should be directed to our office so that we can assess those concerns and act accordingly following NJ State regulations and best practices.
