Dear UGL Community,
We wanted to make you aware that we are closely monitoring the situation
with COVID-19 as it pertains to the opening of the Upper Greenwood Lake
Beach. The New Jersey Governor’s Executive Order 107 was enacted to
support the State’s mitigation strategy of social distancing.
Recreational bathing facilities are considered locations where large
numbers of individuals may gather in congregation when physical
proximity to other individuals may be dangerous and individuals may
encounter common surfaces. As a result, applications for Public Bathing
Licenses are not being accepted by the Town of West Milford, and thus we
are unsure when the UGL Beach will be opening for the 2020 season.
What actions we are taking:
- We will be preparing the UGL Beach and facilities for an anticipated opening in early June, so that the facilities are ready, once we are given the go-ahead by the State and Local authorities.
- We are securing additional cleaning, disinfection, and personal protective equipment to ensure we can keep the facilities clean and safe once we do open.
- We will be canceling Swim Lessons for the 2020 Season, to minimize close personal contact and protect the lifeguards and children of the community from any additional risks.
- We will be implementing new, temporary Beach rules that align with State and Local recommendations for social distancing.
We
would like to express our thanks to all of our members for their
patience and understanding during these uncertain times. Your membership
is important to us all, as it not only supports our Beach but also
funds many other aspects of our community: Property Taxes, Fireworks,
Office Expenses, Clubhouse, and Activities to name a few.
We look forward to providing you with updates regarding the UGL Beach as they become available.
Sincerely,
The Upper Greenwood Lake Property Owner’s Association Beach Committee
