Dear Current and Prospective POA Members,
Just a few short weeks ago, I was appointed as the new Dock Chairperson for the UGLPOA. I’ve been working closely with the former chair to get up to speed on the current state of dock assignments, the lengthy waiting list, and potential new dock locations. Over the coming weeks and months, I’ll continue reviewing requests and handling repairs and assignments. Your patience is greatly appreciated—especially for those who have been waiting.
As I step into this role, I’d like to share a few key expectations and reminders regarding dock usage, maintenance, and policies:
- Dock Applications:
A dock application must be submitted before any work begins—this includes repairs, replacements, or changes. The application can be found at uglpoa.org. - Dock Maintenance:
All docks must be properly maintained and display both a dock plate and a current sticker. - Dock Sizes and Configurations:
The recommended dock size is 4’ x 18’, but variations may be allowed due to water depth, terrain, or other physical limitations. All special requests —including attachment methods, different configurations and size exceptions—will be reviewed and approved on a case-by-case basis at the discretion of the Dock Committee and/or the Board of Trustees.- Dock Reassignments:
Please note that some docks may be subject to reassignment. In such cases, current dock holders may be offered alternative locations. Reassignments may occur for reasons including, but not limited to:- Proximity to adjoining properties
- Limited vehicle access or parking
- Lack of proper maintenance
- Disruptive behavior, complaints, or conflicts with neighbors
- Delinquency on POA or easement dues
For full dock regulations and guidelines please visit: uglpoa.org.
IMPORTANT: If you currently have a dock that you do not use—or would be open to sharing or relinquishing it—please let us know. There are many community members patiently waiting for access.
All dock-related inquiries, requests, or updates can be sent to: dockcommittee@uglpoa.com.
Thank you for your cooperation, and I look forward to seeing you around the lake!
Warm regards,
Dennis Decina
UGLPOA Dock Chairperson
