| It was observed this morning that a boat in the Dover Cove area had sunk and was leaking oil into the lake. The petroleum plume has been contained with booms around the boat by Hazmat personnel. The West Milford Health Inspector came to the beach/boat launch area and did not find any evidence of petroleum sheen or odors. So we were given the approval to open the beach. We will monitor the water around the bathing area throughout the day. Please notify the office if you observe an oil plume on the lake. office@uglpoa.com or (973)853-4262. Also please refrain from causing a wake in the main channel for the next several hours until the boat is removed. Thank you. |
