Dear Upper Greenwood Lake Community:
It is with a sad and heavy heart that we send this message to you today. This past Friday evening, there was a terrible incident on our lake that resulted in the drowning of 21 year old, Tristan Bakalian.
Tristan, an Upper Greenwood Lake resident, was a local hero, loved and known by many as a generous and kind person, a WM high school football and wrestling star, and a beloved son and brother.
As the police investigation of this incident continues, we urge anyone with any information about Friday night, to please contact the West Milford police at 973-728-2800. We would like to thank all those who aided in the search and recovery efforts.
The Association is currently working to set up Grief Counseling for all in the community who are in need of support at this time. Details will follow shortly.
Primarily, we would like to express heartfelt condolences to Ron and Diana Bakalian, the entire Bakalian family, and the many friends and acquaintances of this fine young man.
